Fernie Zubia's Career at BEA

Fernie is the strength and conditioning coach at Beimel Elite Athletics El Paso. Before embarking on his training career, he was offered a scholarship to Midland College where he began playing baseball at the collegiate level. Fernie then attended St.Mary’s University where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science.  

Fernie’s involvement with Beimel Elite Athletics began in the Summer of 2021 as an intern when he became familiar with the DIY program which was developed by ex-professional baseball players Joe Beimel and Brent Dean. This program not only assisted Fernie as a trainer but also aided growth in his own fitness and athletic goals. His growth led to personal best in throwing velocity, batting exit velocity and strength numbers of all categories

Fernie consistently strives to educate himself to better mentor and guide his athletes. He has obtained a NASM-Personal Training Certification, NASM-Sports Nutrition Coach Certification and is a ArmCare Specialist. His accomplishments have taught him the value of hard work, discipline and grit. Qualities that he implements with the athletes at Beimel Elite Athletics.
